Auflösungsvermögen
Bei Benutzung der Kamera an den verschiedenen Optiken wird jeweils eine andere Aufnahmenauflösung erzielt. Mit zunehmender Brennweite verkleinert sich das Gesichtsfeld. Damit steigt die Anforderung an die Nachführgenauigkeit und erlaubt ohne Korrektur hier Belichtungszeiten bis maximal 120 Sekunden. Die theoretische Auflösungsgrenze, das sogenannte Rayleigh-Kriterium, liegt z.Bsp. mit 1.22*Lambda/Apertur*206265″ beim VC200L – wie auch bei jedem anderen 8-Zöller – bei 0.5″ für blaues Licht (400nm) und 0.68″ für grünes Licht (555nm) und bei 0.80″ für rotes Licht (656nm). Damit liegt das CCD Auflösungsvermögen unter dem theoretisch möglichen Wert, so dass für Beobachtungsbedingungen (Seeing, Wolken etc.) genügend „Spielraum“ bleibt.
